While I am no fan of Galliano’s work, I find this kind of hypocritical since they honored Karl Lagerfeld. Lagerfeld, himself has been in trouble, many times, for making inflammatory and controversial remarks, throughout his career, even when he designing for Chanel. Despite that, I respect Lagerfeld’s talent and thought his show, was very good.

I love the Colonial/Revolutionary War era. One of my favorite places is the Conference House on Staten Island. Built in 1680, it is a magnificent stone building without ever having to be anything else. It is located at the southern tip of the island, with a beautiful view across the water to NJ.
But it’s real claim to fame is that it hosted a (failed, unfortunately) Peace Conference on September 11, 1776. Attended by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and Edward Rutledge representing the Patriots, and Admiral Lord Richard Howe (British naval commander) and Col. Christopher Billopp, loyalist and owner of the home. The meeting did not last very long with both sides not giving up their positions.
On Sept 12, they are having a re-enactment (and other good things) to celebrate the 250th anniversary.

I have known a lot of immigrant Muslim physicians in my career. They have always treated me, my family, and my patients as kindly or moreso than anyone else. I will always believe that is still the case unless proven otherwise.

Houston is swamped with Muslim & Hindu physicians who immigrated here into cheap hospital and clinic jobs.
Can’t believe there aren’t thousand of actual citizens who wanted to be doctors, and aren’t, because medical providers only care about profit margins, and, the federal government helped them get cheaper foreign labor.
