Some of Wyoming’s grizzly bears will likely end up going to Washington state’s North Cascades after the federal government this week approved a reintroduction program there. Washington locals already hate the idea.
It’s official, grizzlies will be reintroduced to the Cascades ecosystem in Washington state. But whether Wyoming bears will be sent that way remains uncertain.
And many Washington locals don’t want them there anyway.
After years of considering the possibility, the National Park Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service this week announced plans to start transplanting grizzlies to the Cascades region in northwest and northcentral Washington.

Pray for IA NE tornado victims. I grew up there and lived through a major one in Omaha in the 70s when I lived there. My hometown in IA was hit (not as bad as Minden) and a family property had a lot of damage (they can’t live there right now) and my nieces and nephews (not to mention brother and sister in law) affected. Thankfully all are well, although the poor kids (having to go in the 3/4 height basement while their parents were out of town for errands) are a little traumatized listening to all the crashing and breaking glass overhead, and some farm animals are missing. Heartbroken for all the loss, but extremely thankful all human life spared (at least in my family). I’m feeling at a loss. I watched footage of the F5 mile wide monster that attacked my family and I’m a little in shock. Wish I was there with them. They will be OK. Prayers appreciated. I so miss my family right now.

I think their decision/action will be far more simple. They will remand to the lower courts with questions needing to be addressed, i.e., official vs. personal, etc. They may not even decide until late June or even until the first few days of July (leading into the July 4th Holiday). The constitutional implications are just huge (Gorsuch commented as much during the OA).
I was impressed that several Justices asked some very good questions with historical references, indicating that such situations have occurred in the past and no such charge had been prosecuted.

But for the deep rural crowd it’s merely a day in the life in the country where slaughtering livestock is very common. You don’t go to the vet to euthanize any animal on the ranch or farm. That is just the way it has always been. You might only go to a vet for a long beloved household pet. But not for the working animals nor the livestock. Obviously, we have all seen the pain that comes from bad marriages and divorce. I’ve seen far too many, both friends and family. We are a broken and sinful people (God’s view).
That said, in Genesis, God states clearly that it is not good for man to be alone, so God created Eve out of Adam’s rib (“woman” – out of man), and blessed a one man and one woman marriage. That is not to say you MUST be married. It is not a command. Singleness is neither sin nor curse (though some desperately long for a spouse and that can be hell!). As Paul notes, marriage (my words) can be a big distraction in your Christian walk and a big problem, at times.
In addition to marriage, God ordained the family structure, which is indisputably best for men, women, children and society.
There is absolutely no question why so many wish to destroy the institutions (Man. Woman. Marriage. Sex. Family) through perversions and distortions of all kind and mechanism.
Day after day – for those with eyes to see and ears to hear – is evidence that affirms scriptural truths about “God’s best for us” (etc!).
Third, while there is nothing wrong with being happy and pursuing happiness, happiness is circumstantial! It can be fleeting, elusive and an idol. As the author notes (my words), life is hard and filled with many challenges.
It is far better to seek joy and peace in Christ. That DOES NOT mean you will always be happy. To the contrary, scripture tells us those in Christ will be hated and attacked, as He was.
As stated earlier, we are a sinful and broken people. Horrors happen. The very creation “groans”. Rather than healing our loved ones are called home to wholeness. That hurts desperately but we have an assurance of a living hope in Christ. Joy and peace in the storms can be had.

It’s official, grizzlies will be reintroduced to the Cascades ecosystem in Washington state. But whether Wyoming bears will be sent that way remains uncertain.

Pray for IA NE tornado victims. I grew up there and lived through a major one in Omaha in the 70s when I lived there. My hometown in IA was hit (not as bad as Minden) and a family property had a lot of damage (they can’t live there right now) and my nieces and nephews (not to mention brother and sister in law) affected. Thankfully all are well, although the poor kids (having to go in the 3/4 height basement while their parents were out of town for errands) are a little traumatized listening to all the crashing and breaking glass overhead, and some farm animals are missing. Heartbroken for all the loss, but extremely thankful all human life spared (at least in my family). I’m feeling at a loss. I watched footage of the F5 mile wide monster that attacked my family and I’m a little in shock. Wish I was there with them. They will be OK. Prayers appreciated. I so miss my family right now.
I had no idea until I saw the article on the stack that that was going on yesterday/last evening. Was so relieved to talk with my brother on the phone today.

I think their decision/action will be far more simple. They will remand to the lower courts with questions needing to be addressed, i.e., official vs. personal, etc. They may not even decide until late June or even until the first few days of July (leading into the July 4th Holiday). The constitutional implications are just huge (Gorsuch commented as much during the OA).
I was impressed that several Justices asked some very good questions with historical references, indicating that such situations have occurred in the past and no such charge had been prosecuted.

But for the deep rural crowd it’s merely a day in the life in the country where slaughtering livestock is very common. You don’t go to the vet to euthanize any animal on the ranch or farm. That is just the way it has always been. You might only go to a vet for a long beloved household pet. But not for the working animals nor the livestock. First, from the point of view that it was written- secular – it is good and seems pretty accurate. One can always nitpick but I won’t.
Second, it comes as absolutely no surprise that marriage (one man:one woman, with fidelity and commitment) results in happiness and worldly success
Obviously, we have all seen the pain that comes from bad marriages and divorce. I’ve seen far too many, both friends and family. We are a broken and sinful people (God’s view).
That said, in Genesis, God states clearly that it is not good for man to be alone, so God created Eve out of Adam’s rib (“woman” – out of man), and blessed a one man and one woman marriage. That is not to say you MUST be married. It is not a command. Singleness is neither sin nor curse (though some desperately long for a spouse and that can be hell!). As Paul notes, marriage (my words) can be a big distraction in your Christian walk and a big problem, at times.
In addition to marriage, God ordained the family structure, which is indisputably best for men, women, children and society.
There is absolutely no question why so many wish to destroy the institutions (Man. Woman. Marriage. Sex. Family) through perversions and distortions of all kind and mechanism.
Day after day – for those with eyes to see and ears to hear – is evidence that affirms scriptural truths about “God’s best for us” (etc!).
Third, while there is nothing wrong with being happy and pursuing happiness, happiness is circumstantial! It can be fleeting, elusive and an idol. As the author notes (my words), life is hard and filled with many challenges.
It is far better to seek joy and peace in Christ. That DOES NOT mean you will always be happy. To the contrary, scripture tells us those in Christ will be hated and attacked, as He was.
As stated earlier, we are a sinful and broken people. Horrors happen. The very creation “groans”. Rather than healing our loved ones are called home to wholeness. That hurts desperately but we have an assurance of a living hope in Christ. Joy and peace in the storms can be had.
In closing, I offer the following song from King and Country. It is based on well known verse from Psalms. It is, of course, about the blessed truths of God. However, think about marriage when you listen to it. Powerful and beautiful!
