“Janet Yellen throws shade at Bitcoin…” so does that mean total darkness for the dollar?

Mr_Mayhem

The dismantling of ICE story is especially troubling, it means we will be flooded with immigrants right when we can least afford it. This is nothing less than the replacement of the nation as a nation state with a feudal oligarchy. It will result in massive social unrest and dwindling resources. We are effectively being replaced.

But the ruling class will also undermine their own survival, both economic and literal, they don’t yet fully appreciate that little detail and likely will not until it is too late. We need leadership now to circle the wagons harder against this madness, likely on state and local levels. Each state will need its own ICE if this keeps up.

Skilled labor is what we need to develop, not more slave labor. And you can’t build an economy on slave labor alone. This little detail evades them.

Politics is a rough and tumble proposition. If you can’t stand the heat don’t go into the kitchen. You can’t go Into politics and expect to be treated with the same social niceties afforded Ladies in polite society. Why is it females want to have it both ways? I’m all for strong women who want to serve but you can’t play the “Lady Card” every time politics gets confrontational and you shouldn’t expect that you or your daughters will be treated any different than men in the political arena. Here she uses that premise to dodge answering the question. Nice try.

GLinNY
GLinNY

There is a very devious reason ‘they’ are pushing the “White supremacy” narrative.

1) Obviously, ‘they’ are kissing up to anti-White RACISTS and black-supremacists in Congress, the limp-dick media, academia (aca-DUMB-ia), sports, celebrities, etc as well as self-loathing White ASSHOLES.
2) Red Herring ALERT……it’s what ‘they’ are NOT railing against that they are busy destroying.

People of ALL backgrounds PAY ATTENTION.

Mr_Mayhem
Mr_Mayhem

It reads like a continuation of the divide and conquer strategy, keep low and middle classes at each other’s throats under false narratives. In the meantime, everyone but the top 1 percent earners is getting sold-out and subjected to economic cannibalism where small to medium firms are liquidated to increase market share for the big multinationals. They are trying to commodify skilled labor like all the rest, but it will not work, they will not get the level of people they need because they are undermining family home life and education pathway which gets there, the middle class path.

The narrative the 1 percent most fear calls out this game and unites the majority of citizens around a genuine new deal backed by real industrial and future oriented growth and sound fiscal policy. It would be necessary to pivot a money policy around international agreements by major nations to outflank the parasitical oligarchic machinery with a new financial architecture, which then underpin long-term investments in large infrastructure and technical energy projects at low interest rates, meaning, free from the influence of parasitical banking elements. A large increase in technical and manufacturing and industrial jobs would follow. Then the economy would be recoverable. The current trend is unsustainable, they are killing us to save us.

I don’t disagree.

I guess if I’m going to loss freedom either way, I’d rather it be by an honorable military group, that volunteered to serve the nation, enforcing the constitution, stopping corrupt deep state,

I watched sermons he gave from his parish in Wisconsin all last year when he was throwing bombs over covid being used to persecute people of faith by denying their right to attend Mass and receive the Sacraments. Those who have a Sacramental Faith can’t attend services by video or Zoom calls. It just doesn’t work that way. Not to mention all who died without receiving confession and Last Rites. He did interviews with Dr. Taylor Marshall and the guy from Church Militant too that are worth a watch for anyone interested in this brave priest. I hadn’t known he was a lawyer prior to his calling. The Feds pumped hundreds of billion$ into the economy last year – into the pockets of millions of people living paycheck to paycheck. Those people spent it immediately. Within a few weeks, most of it ended up in the bank accounts of people and corporations that are already super rich. That’s why inflation hasn’t shown up, despite all the money printing – it quickly exits the economy and gets piled up in vaults.

Small businesses were shut down and ruined while Wal Mart and Amazon raked in billions. Now the Oligarchy must be broken up. The Oligarchs need to start to back off. Our economy is so twisted and distorted, it is on the verge of breaking. They have to end their hoarding of, not just money, but of the way of life that was promised to all Americans. They need to do this voluntarily. Sadly, I do not think they will. But if they refuse, we are lurching toward a national tragedy. They have sown the wind and will reap a whirlwind. That isn’t a threat, it’s a simple, inevitable fact.

The super rich think they have insulated themselves from the coming debacle. They think they are prepared to survive society coming unglued. They are wrong. They’re like the Japanese engineers who thought they had prepared their nuclear power plants for any foreseeable earthquake or storm. But then nature dished up something truly astounding… and the Japanese nuke plants were swamped. Remember watching them burn and explode? We have mostly forgotten about that nightmare, but it is still very real for Japan. Today’s Oligarchs are the Japanese engineers and the coming paroxysm is the tsunami that will swamp their defenses and plans.

Here’s a step, one step, away from anarchy: Every entity that has charge accounts and charges interest on them MUST allow people to hold positive balances on their accounts, up to their credit limit. They must be able to act as savings accounts. If a credit card company gives someone a credit limit of $5,000, then that person is entitled to pay off their balance and SAVE up to $5,000 on that account… and get PAID interest on their positive balance. Those entities must pay interest on those positive balances that is no less than 1/8th the highest rate they charge any single customer. New people are allowed to apply, be given a standard credit limit – and then immediately deposit money into that account, to earn interest.

So, if they charge someone 24% APR on any outstanding balance, then they must pay 3% APR on all positive balances. Further, no one can be turned down for good credit! Nor can an account be limited in size because of good credit.

Currently, there is NO useful savings account available to the middle class. Banks routinely pay 1% APR while charging 24%, or higher! No pun intended, but the US was designed with checks and balances built in. Yet, there is currently NO check or balance against what finance companies have foisted onto the public. People are desperate for real returns on their money, yet no sane avenue exists.

If a credit company cannot survive charging 8X as much on debt as they pay out on savings, then they are incompetent. The sooner they go out of business the better. The rest will adjust to the new normal.

Think about the most likely outcome of such a policy: Many people will move money from the stock market (which they now play likes it’s a casino) and put it into a positive balance on a credit card. Credit card companies with probably reduce the highest rates they charge, to reduce the amount they have to pay. They will also reduce credit limits, to reduce the amount of savings coming at them. These are all great outcomes!

Credit cards are the real crack cocaine in our society. Nevertheless, credit will still be offered – they are “credit card companies”, after all! And, they have to earn income to pay the interest on savings accounts, so they will continue to offer credit. Yet, a savings vehicle will have been created for the Middle Class – by modifying an existing system that is already fully integrated into our economy. And the worst excesses of the generational credit binge will dissipate away.

You’re welcome!

In case people didn’t figure this out yet, liberal governments across the USA are eliminating cash bail to increase crime, which in turn increases gun crime, which in turn gives an excuse to take away our 2nd amendment gun rights. Miss
Miss

No. We need courage.

A new party.

A party who’s platform is America first without corruption.

Miss
Miss

I’ll be the first to nominate President Trump.

OV
OV

I just can’t stand looking at any of the Republicans and I can’t trust anyone new after the betrayal of all the Reps we voted for, including supporting Barrett and Kavanaugh. I still remember watching the stupid trial about Kavanaugh’s sexual assault and how much effort it was to nominate him. What a disgrace, disappointment… I just hope Trump understands that just because people love him, we are not going to trust his judgement on whom to trust, including the Graham chameleon

RetiredSAIC
RetiredSAIC

You can trust whomever you like but, if there’s someone who has proven they can be a better leader for conservatives than President Trump, kindly name that individual. If you believe, as I do, that President Trump is the ONLY true MAGA leader capable of moving conservatism forward, then that mantle of leadership carries with it a large measure of responsibility on his part, but it also calls for trust from those who’ve chosen to follow that leader.

Also, it might help some people to look down-page at my discussion with Pied Piper and the analogy of a sports team trying to win the Super Bowl. It doesn’t happen overnight. The team doesn’t magically have the perfect player for each position, and sometimes you have to put up with less-than-perfect players as you move toward the goal. That might not be ideal, but it is realistic.

RetiredSAIC
RetiredSAIC

If I was a tactician for the radical Left I’d push a 3rd party as much as possible. Let’s assume 40-60% of disaffected Republicans switched to the new party . . . great, time to spring the trap!

And that trap would consist of denying the new party banking services, media services, etc., on the basis that they’re “extremist.” There is no conservative alternative for much of what a new party would need in order to function. Split the old party and starve the new one . . . sweet perpetual victory for Dems!!!

There’s a reason President Trump has shunned the 3rd party alternative and it’s not because he has any great love for RINOs. He’s a smart businessman and has made the better business decision.

OV
OV

How about push a third and a fourth party? One for MAGA and another one for AOC squad? Idk, it’s hard (or even impossible) to change a system that’s been there for decades. It seems easier to start fresh…

RetiredSAIC
RetiredSAIC

You can come up with as many scenarios as your imagination can hold. But that’s all they are . . . imaginary scenarios. Unfortunately we live in the real world where it’s Republicans vs Democrats, and that’s it. Anytime a 3rd party has been tried it’s been a disaster. When Ross Perot tried it he siphoned off enough votes from George Bush (41) so that Clinton was elected. Even for those who weren’t crazy about Bush-41, eight years of Bill Clinton was a LONG time for liberalism to get even more entrenched AND it had the added (negative) bonus of allowing Hillary Clinton to rise to prominence.

No Perot = no Bill Clinton = no prominence for Hillary Clinton and the entire Clinton mafia.

President Trump understands the situation as it is, not as we might wish it to be.

I agree, he’s a figurehead.
Take some time to watch what’s going on in the country and around the world.
The left is putting their foot on the necks of citizens everywhere.
It’s looks and sounds like there is only darkness ahead, but…
When you look and listen a little more, you see ordinary people, people who’ve done nothing political or contrarian in their lives; they’re stepping up, taking a stand.
Little Grandma’s in London standing up to the police,
Little black girls on the internet laying down some seriously deep philosophical satire.
People are waking up, their fighting in their own ways, and it’s growing more and more popular as the left closes its fist tighter and tighter.
Squeeze a fist full of sand, and watch the millions of individual grains escaping until the hand is empty.

Demnomore
Demnomore

Beautifully said!

RetiredSAIC
RetiredSAIC

I think you’re mistaken if you think he’s alone in this. There are MAGA patriots in the Senate, the House, and in Governors’ mansions who have proven that they’re on his side. The process of revitalizing a party isn’t one that happens overnight.

One of President Trump’s greatest gifts is the ability to pull back the curtain so that everyone can see true nature of things. Prior to the Trump presidency, there were many who were thought to be conservative who were actually frauds. We now know exactly who they are.

DT
DT

none of it matters if the voting lawlessness isn’t fixed and the Dominion machines, and any like them, are not removed.
The compromised SCOTUS is a kangaroo court that does the communist’s bidding, so no resolution in the courts…… and the communists are preparing to pass a bill that makes all their previous fraud legal.

Thus, it doesn’t matter who is in what party, how many parties there are, whether you vote or not, who Trump supports, or if you do not give them money.

Outside interests and lobbys now fund them unchecked, they put in whoever will do their bidding, they line their pockets with kickbacks from omnibus bills they pass and they’ll put your vote wherever they want it, no matter who you vote for or whether you even vote or not.

At this point, it’s all theater to make you feel like you count

RetiredSAIC
RetiredSAIC

If none of it matters, and it’s all theater, then feel free to crawl into a hole and pull it in after you. President Trump obviously feels differently and thinks there’s a battle worth fighting. I’m fully in support and happy to fight beside him.

BTW, I posted the other night that the number of states that stayed Red, and the number of Republican seats that were unexpectedly GAINED in the House, are evidence that the Dem cheaters are not infallible. I also noted, while not downplaying the role of Dominion machines, that most analyses I’ve seen have maintained that the extraordinarily large number of NOT in-person votes (mail-in, absentee, etc.) were the major factor. The main justification used for those kinds of votes was the COVID crisis. While the Dems might try to keep that going for 2022, it’s doubtful they can do it on the same scale.

And I also anticipate lawsuits and other efforts by President Trump in order to fight against fraud. And, to a CFPer who replied the other night that it wouldn’t make any difference, my response was that there’s no downside in trying and lots of upside.

So here’s what I’d say to all the glass half-empty folks – if you’re right, and President Trump’s efforts won’t work, then nothing will change anyway . . . no harm, no foul. But, if President Trump is successful in getting even a few states to change their procedures, then we’ve made progress.

The margin in the House of Representatives is D-222 to R-213. If Republicans can flip just FIVE seats, out of 435, that would give us a R-218 to D-217 majority. For anyone who thinks that’s not worth fighting for, I don’t know what to tell you.

The d-rats always turn on one another. DiBlazio took the great city that Frank sang about with the line ‘If you can make it here you can make it anywhere’ and turned it into ‘If you can stand it here, you can stand it anywhere.’ I hope he decides to run for Governor, wins and fits Nana and Papa killer kuomo and his flunkie brother ‘Fredo’ with concrete shoes and drops their fly blown corpses into Long Island Sound. What a photo op.

I always thought diBlazios performance in NYC (and don’t forget he was elected twice so the morlocks must like him) was limited by the size of his stage. If he could do that to NYC (in what 7 years), imagine what he could do to the whole state. If you say The Communist Republic of New York over and over again it kind of grows on you doesn’t it.

I also hope he’s around when the Pendulum starts to swing back, because when it does, it’ll be terrible!

Confession: I always believed Republicans were more or less principled.  How could I have been so dumb?  I will beg off by saying democrats are so much worse, it DOES make Republicans look like they have principles.

It’s a little like believing Hillary is not bad looking… as long as she’s standing next to Rachel Maddow.

I could not be more annoyed with Republicans than I am, but I don’t think they are listening. One of my goals, in addition to not eating any more food in my pantry with sell by dates older than 2014, is to make them listen. Not sure how to get their attention but I am sure that destroying the party would worsen my plight, not improve it. I’m in this battle for me, not to punish the only thing standing between me and communism, however weak that wall is. Walls can be improved, Trump proved that.

A team wins the superbowl by getting rid of lousy players and bringing in good players. God knows the Pubs have some lousy players, even people who will drop the pass on purpose to help the other team win. Mittcain Romney is a perfect example. The Pubs need to do some serious housecleaning and strong recruiting. You know who’s looking good? Ben Carson. We need more like him, a man of principles.

It can’t get worse, eh Hammer? Time for CPAC to become a roaring Trump rally but many of them are not really Trump supporters. I’ll be watching with interest. I’m sure the Rinos in CPAC are sweating buckets about now. It must be like watching a flood coming and you know you can’t get out of the way.

PP…You have struck on something that has churned in my mind for some time. Never mind Republicans being principalled…I’m watching with mounting fear as churches are rushing equally or more quickly in the same direction. What has happened that so many have embraced the evil schemes of liberal thinking. What Christian can endorse a child killing regime while on the other hand taking to social media and attacking the most pro life president the US has ever known.

Here on the more snowy side of the border the same questions abound. I speak with more secular people who have a more profound understanding of the covid agenda then many who are in the church. We have to wake the sleeping church out of its slumber.

I believe that trying times lie ahead for those of us who hold to Jesus.

To the cross I’ll cling…the world is so lost.

I agree with you on every point, DD. Many churches are first businesses and second spreaders of the Word. That’s what has happened to them. They fear telling the truth for fear of a revenue drop. Those kind really ought to get out of the business because they may be doing more harm than good.

I like listening to John MacArthur out of southern California (Grace to You Bible Church). He sticks strictly to the Bible, pulls no punches, has successfuly fought everything LA County has thrown at him to try and shut him down and his church is bursting at the seams with parishioners. Other churches should take note. He knows and likes Donald Trump, too. And Donald Trump likes him.

The pendulum swings, DD, it’s just their turn right now until we can push it in the other direction.

Everything you say is true and, while you didn’t specifically mention it as part of your sports analogy, getting the right players isn’t an overnight process. The reality is such that some players you think will be awesome turn out to be awful. And reconfiguring a team with the proper tactics and players can be a years-long process. While that process plays out, a good coach is one who does the best he can with what he has. President Trump didn’t have a deep bench, made some mistakes, and learned by trial-and-error. It’s my hope and expectation that he’ll promote the best MAGA candidates he can find for the 2022 elections.

But I hasten to point out that not everyone who runs on a Republican ticket will necessarily be able to pass a MAGA purity test. There will be some, for whatever reason, who will either be in the disappointing (or potentially disappointing) category. My personal strategy is going to be to hold my nose and vote for them anyway. Why? Because I think the track record clearly shows that even a RINO is better than a Dem, in EVERY circumstance you can imagine. For those who don’t agree, I challenge you to compare voting records of RINOs, including despised ones, against even the most “conservative” Dem, like Manchin.

Reality sucks sometimes. And it’s hard to be patient when you see the other team cheating and running riot. But being downcast is not a plan for rebuilding and we shouldn’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

Re, I read where Manchin will be the card that will keep a lot of progressive crap being passed and wants to work across the isle and so are a few other Democrats. Can a RINO like Romney and Flake types be willing to do that or will they always be in for themselves?

Pied Piper
Pied Piper

Mittcain may take the traitor route less often now that Trump is not there to undermine. Just have to wait and see. I still predict he will go Independent and caucas with the Dems. He’s finished with Pubs and unless he’s the dumbest guy on earth, knows it,

jg, I think there are political and personal variables that are unique to each politician. The late John McCain, for example, was a mean, vindictive S.O.B. who hated President Trump. And McCain, IIRC, could usually count on being re-elected in AZ by a comfortable margin. That gave him both the motivation and security to be a thorn in the side of President Trump. In contrast, someone like Susan Collins has a harder time getting re-elected so her RINO-ness is at least partly due to that fact. And she’s always been more of an establishment type, definitely miles away from being a MAGA conservative.

But even Susan Collins, a true RINO, is head and shoulders above ANY Dem when you compare voting records. I did a comparison of Collins vs Manchin votes during the Trump administration and it was no contest. Now that the Senate is split nearly evenly things get even more complicated because now a lot will depend on the individual piece of legislation. So I’m not sure there’s a reliable barometer for how people like Manchin or Romney will vote and I’m looking for surprises to happen from time to time. Flake has retired, so he’s not currently an issue.

joeygrl
joeygrl

OK. Yes Flake retired but when one retires another pops up. It’s all about the greed.

With some it’s greed, with others it’s personal ambition, with others it might be something else. Each has a unique combination of factors that drives them.
