I taught 16 year olds for 28 years. If you think we should listen to anything they say you are an idiot. They are incapable of the type of thought needed to shape any policy. Their brains have not developed to that level.

Our elders are our greatest asset. Once all the knowledge of our forefathers and mothers have learned is gone back into the earth it might not pass to the next generation unless they are willing to listen. Our youth are currently a liability until proven otherwise. One of my favorite things a grandparent can do for a grandchild is garden with them and just nurture that child with as much wisdom as you can!
I think we passed that mark in the early 2000s when the last of the Greatest Generation died.
Grandparents today are not like the grandparents of that time. The young ones are continually embarrassed when they run into their grandma picking up men at the same bar. Things have changed. I have gone back to gardening now though.
