If you recall, Al Gore lost Florida in the 2000 Presidential election by a razor-thin margin, and that loss cost him the Presidency. He then proceeded to disappear immediately after the election and was absent from public view for several months. When he reappeared, he had gained considerable weight and immediately announced that was dedicating himself 100 percent to fighting the scourge of man-made climate change.

What do you think happened outside of public view during those immediate post-election months? My guess is that losing the election by such a tiny margin after spending millions of dollars and enduring endless hours of campaigning was just too much for Al’s fragile ego, so he constructed a grandiose confabulation about his ultimate destiny. Losing the Presidency was really a sign that Al was not merely destined to save America from another Bush presidency, but to save the entire world from climate change. Rather than ignominiously botching an election, he was snatched in the nick of time from throwing his life away on trivial politics to rise gloriously from the ash heap of lost elections to single-handed lead the huddled masses to the promised carbon-neutral glory of Progressive Utopia.

And that’s how Al Gore emerged from the depths of a high-caloric mental breakdown to find his life’s calling without missing a beat.

The climate would cool if Gore and Greta would shut their big traps for a period of time. They need to quit blowing all of that hot air around.
