As I recall he died from multiple bullets while trapped at a toll booth. He didn’t have exact change. New Jersey, brutal.

What is boring andrew is someone who receives 37 thumbs down and counting. Since when did trolls become movie critics.

We were in Las Vegas 30 years ago, he was in line with us to see dolphins. We had our lil miracle baby with us. He was clearly taken by her, asked if he could hold her. He knew it was rather forward. He was quite humble and treated her with dignity and care. He saw beyond her special needs, spoke directly to her and told her how beautiful, truly beautiful she is. He told her she was more than special that she was filled with light. Asked us of it was okay and kissed her tenderly on her forehead and handed her back.

we still haven’t told her he passed away – she loves deeply, and she will grieve as if he were a family member

He lived quite a life I suppose, and he gave us a memory beyond his acting that will last our lifetime.

I thank him for that.

Along with my story from above = about our daughter – our first date was a dinner and the movie “Misery” that came up many a time in to bring laughter when the marriage was hitting speed bumps
“What WERE we thinking – we started with MISERY!”

Living to 82 with his lifestyle=win.

Never give up

Yes he smoked and did drugs and chased women. But he was an old school man and not like today’s soyboy leading men. He was a terrific actor. James Caan quote “I can’t believe anyone would care what an actor says about anything. We’re actors. We don’t know about anything except acting.”

I doubt that. I don’t watch TV, and last went to a movie theater in 1991. The only reason I went then was I got a free ticket form the USO.

I liked the scene where Burt Young (think that was his name) finds the bomb stuck underneath the car. If you have not seen it “Thief” was pretty good especially the finale where he takes revenge on Mr. Big.

If you’re not familiar with it the story about the guy who played Carlo the traitor brother-in-law is interesting, he wasn’t an actor but a but a local NYC guy who grew up on the streets and was befriended by Frank Costello the mafia don. Straight out of “A Bronx Tale” and Costello paid for an operation to fix his leg I think it was. The dude wound up in Vegas and had an encounter with one of Pablo Escobar’s Bad Guys, consequently he was nearly killed until Escobar found out he was in The Godfather and then he was rescued and he had to sit and watch the movie with Pablo! He was on Coast AM a while back.

“Way of the Gun” is an underappreciated gem of a film, and James Caan is excellent in it. But his best, in my opinion…?

Finally watched ‘Thief’ and and especially enjoyed seeing Willy Nelson in a minor role.
Good film.

Favorite Caan film I have seen would have to be ‘Mickey Blue Eyes’. Then ‘Misery’.

I can take the criticism, don’t care. At least it ain’t ‘Elf’.
