Labs are great water dogs, but this lobster skill I have never seen.
To my friend Don down the list – Train, for what!?!?! No dumb ass, the dog would never be able to catch a live one … EVER … no matter how long you trained it. How many people you think watched this and knew the lobsters were dead?!?! Your such an idiot, you probably didn’t think of it yourself!
Had a dog catch bass in a lake
Awesome good dog!
My cat is the one in that truck tailgate commercial, she fetches wood and swims.
I’m from Florida and love catching Spinies. Knowing a lot about Southern lobsters having caught so many, this is a photo op setup!! Make no mistake, Spinies are fast and would do no such thing as just sit on the bottom waiting to be caught like that…. and they will intensely slap their tail if caught. These lobster were dead and setup for the dog. Good dog none the less!
So what dumb ass that’s how you train dogs

Take THAT, cat ladies!
Dogs are amazing!
My dogs won’t even go out in the rain.
Put lobsters in the back yard
That is amazing
Workin dogs are happiest.
The same with working horses..
My Boykin Spaniel sniff’s out box turtles when we go walking in the woods. If it’s small enough to get in her mouth she’ll bring it back if not she’ll bark till I get there.
My friend Brian had a Golden Retriever that would dive to the bottom of the deep end of their swimming pool to retrieve her dog toys that Brian would toss in. It was about 7 feet deep.
That was the first and only time I’ve ever witnessed a dog doing something like that.
My son’s Pit Bull would retrieve toys from the bottom of his pool’s 81/2 foot deep end.
My friend also had a Golden retriever. He would throw a frisbee into the river, the frisbee was heavy enough where it would sink about three feet under but not to the bottom. the dog would jump in, go to where the frisbee was and proceed to splash his paws on top of the water, which would bring the frisbee back up to the surface and then snatch it up and bring it back to him. Thought that was pretty cool!
When I was a kid my neighbor had a Chesapeake Bay retriever. He used to go with me fishing and when the herring were running up the stream he could catch them one after the other. We used to salt them down and after they were in the crock pot for a while you could eat the bones since they had turned real soft. The only thing you had to remember was to soak the fillets in fresh water the night before you were going to eat them.
Stupidest pet I’ve ever had was a beautiful black lab. Bought her out of the trunk of a car in a parking lot, nothing sketchy.
She was scared of everything – especially water. Even rain.
Completely untrainable but had a decent personality.
I gave her a good life for her eight years.
I have a purebread shepherd just like that . As i write this he is looking for something else to be afraid of
I gotta get me one of those.
I’d be happy to have a boat.
Labs are amazing and amazingly trainable dogs and they do take to water. But I would never allow a dog to do this. The owner should google “canine salt water toxicity.” Even a splash around the beach can result in salt toxicity and the result can be fatal.
You get internet in your bubble?
Tf was that.
I read at one point they were used to pull nets, line and ropes on fishing boats. They are beautiful creatures. For the last 25 years our household had a Lab or mixed Lab, and we still have one now.
Sure it’s staged, but diving that deep is pretty awesome anyway. Good dog.
It is impressive trick, but it did occur to me that the lobster may have been recently deceased then placed in the water.
I was on the camera crew of a fishing show on the Outdoor channel about 20 years ago. Our production schedule called for a new action packed show every two weeks and sometimes the fish didn’t co-operate. That’s why occasionally we would need to catch the same fish 2 or 3 times or until there was no fight left in him.
Once when catching the same fish the second time, the host said on camera “Look at that, it’s about the same size as the last one”. At that point the producer suggested it wasn’t a good idea to call attention to that fact.
Sorry but after catching many lobster while SCUBA diving this video is highly doubtful. Lobster rarely venture out from under cover during the day as they are nocturnal feeding creatures. With a flick of the tail the lobster would be gone like a rocket the minute the dog got close.
yes the lobster was already dead,…not sure that was the point genius…
Are you being sarcastic to me Bahama me? KMA.
I have to agree. After many years of diving in the Keys the only thing that could catch a lobster out in the open like that is a barracuda. You’re right these Lobster travel at night and hide during the day never saw one out in the open during the day
My first thought as well. They hide out during the day, just after sunrise. BUT pretty awesome dog diving!
it’s twitter. NO THANKS
Dogs are awesome
Whats up with some of the nasty comments on something that should make you smile
Again do not let the libtards take away your happiness and joy…….if u have u have lost the war.
The boss just trying to make us smile cuz at the end of the day, life should be full of joy.
People sell their souls to promote the darkness and try to suck the good and light out of everything we see, hear, and do.
I hear that the DNC pays them very well…
I hate these staged videos, especially ones using animals.
Show us on the doll where the Internet touched you.
Well, the fellow didn’t say the lobsters were alive. Yes, he may have purchased them, threw them in the water just to show off the dog’s ability. May concern watching the video was, “How is that even possible, opening its mouth like that under water and not having drowned?” That’s just cruel to do that to a dog!
“How is that even possible, opening its mouth like that under water and not having drowned?” Bwahahahaha you’re a full on retard.
Um, that’s kinds of what retrievers do, retrieve.
Yes, dogs really hate doing things outside…
Fake. Florida Lobsters like this one live in 60 to 80 feet of water in coral and rock areas, and don’t ever go into shallow water. Maker of the video obviously placed them there then shot the video. They look 1/2 dead too which means they’ve already been out of water a short while. .
I catch lobsters all the time in 15 ft. or less in Florida South of Sebastian Inlet and down in the Keys but they are under ledges rocks or in holes. And they would haul ass if this dog came upon them. Only time I find them just walking around out in the open is a night.
Fetch the Honduran “White lobster” it sells for 80,000 a kilo…a little more allusive….
Warm water lobster, no claws. Wouldn’t want my dog to face off with a wicked Maine lobster!
Of course, a black lab, the “bestest” dog in the whole wide world.
I think he’d do a better job in the White House than POOTUS (starring Joe Biden)
Hope he shares some of that sweet sea meat with that awesome pup-he’s earned it.
sweet sea meat said it all.
The Communist left would consider that an affront to Mother Earth and have the dogs euthanized.
Canines are such remarkable creatures. After all, Dog is God spelled backwards. I like Cats, too, but Dogs are just so special.
cat is tac spelled backwards.
Love them both, cats maybe a little more.
Cats are vermin. Kill anything that moves for entertainment, millions of songbirds every year
Cats are monsters and their owners are slaves.
Mans best friend, love it.
I have a 90 lb lab/boxer, he’s a sinker. No way is he even going to get on a boat, let alone jump off the boat. But on the other side he can run and intimidate anyone that comes to the house.
Yes, but for a toy in the pool, not lobsters!
Who’s a good boy ?
Must be Florida with the spiny lobster with no claws. . Would hate to see a dog get pinched by one of those. Pretty nasty, I hear. If it was Maine, the state would be raising hell over that.
Don’t worry, the video is fake. He probably bought the Lobster at Publix and pitched them over the side in shallow water.
Who cares??? It is still amazing to see such a well trained dog!!!
When I was a kid in the early Sixties we lived in Ft. Walton Beach on Cinco Bayou. We had a rescue dog that would swim out and dive to the bottom and pick up blue crabs from the back of the shell and bring them up on the beach.
Good dogs, talented dogs.
New breed “Lobster Retriever”!
It’s like the old fishing shows where Roland Martin faked catching all those fish. They just threw the fish back… over and over (with the line still attached – lol).
Move over Rover, let Jimi take over…
Who is the goodest boys? These dogs!
it is not that far fetched
It’s what for dinner. But wow!
He should be president
He is smarter than the dog we have in the WH now.
We have a cancerous RAT in the White House… a dog,…any dog is smarter than the Resident….
Fake as hell. First of all you barely ever see those southern lobsters out in the open sand. 2nd of all, they run/fly away really fast when approached. 3rd of all the flap like crazy when grabbed. 4th of all they are extremely sharp with little points all over them that will slice you up when they flap.
Yep. Still cool though.
Very cool. And see how the dog swims to the stern to get easier access to the boat!? Smart dogs!
My blood hound Rhodesian ridgeback mix used to dive under water and bring rocks. I tried to break him of the rock thing but he wouldn’t give it up. Throw the rock back in the river with 100 other same looking river rocks and he would bring back the exact one. Even if he didn’t see where you throw it. Amazing. I always wondered how the hell he did it. The lobster thing makes me disappointed in myself. I could’ve been trying to train him to do that lol. That is just off the charts cool. Imagine all the girls you could rope with that one. Wanna have lobster and wine out on my boat tonight young lady. Oh ya that sounds great. Lemme get my dog……wtf? Your dog?
Because Rhodesians were special people and so were our dogs.
Sorry, couldn’t resist bragging there. Lol lol
I have one of those geologist dogs, pure bred German Shepard, he LOVES the rocks.
And he’s a real stinker too. He chews through more toilet paper rolls than a taco bell lover with IBS.
I feel that pain… my husky/pit mix does the same thing…. loves him some TP rolls
I NEED that dog to retrieve crabs, lobsters for me
OMG, ROTFLMAO. Do either of them need a license for harvesting lobster?
Just one more reason we call ’em “Man’s Best Friend!”
Dogs are God’s greatest invention. DOMESTICATED DOGS are man’s greatest invention (honorable mention to fire and the wheel).
There’s a reason that dog is GOD spelled backwards!
Never out of season. .Officer, the damn dog keeps catchin’ them!!
WOW, and all my dog does is chase balls.
All my dog did was lick his………..and scoot on the carpet.
ha ha ha ha……. that was funny early in the morning
At least he doesnt chase his tail like we all do here expecting our representatives to defend the Constitution.
My cat brought me a goldfish once.
My cat bought to me 3 rats , 5 birds , a small rabbit , uninsured , and several lizards . He was great about sharing . I still miss that cat .
Yawwwwwnnnn, let me know when the dog can boil, shell it and serve it with butter.
Way to harsh a mellow, Pangio.
And fetch a beer.
Believe me Dr. they can be taught to bring you a beer.
Dogs prefer lobster sashimi.
A first for me
Love all dogs!! (Especially, my pals Oscar and Norway…) ….https://mrmathmechanic.com/bring-oscar
