The problem is that we have seen in the videos that those who arrived first (Antifa and BLM activists) before Trump’s speech even finished WERE invited in – the Capitol police opened the barriers for them… and those Trump supporters who arrived on the scene AFTER the orchestrated chaos began were waved in by a man in a Capitol police uniform. It was all a set up and I have no doubt McConnell and Pelosi were behind it because once Josh Hawley announced he would challenge the electors McConnell knew he had lost control of the process. They were desperate to stop the evidence of election fraud from being presented to the nation.
There is NO WAY anyone would have gotten into that building if they didn’t want them in. Trump offered 10,000 National Guard troops and they turned it down. Capitol officers who were off duty reported for work anyway and were sent home. The fix was in. Sadly, Trump supporters played right into their hands, acting out of frustration as much as anything else.
Pelosi and McConnell knew it was going to happen and in her arrogance, Pelosi left her laptop behind. But they had their impeachment ready and they fully intended to use the so-called “insurrection” to demonize Trump supporters and brand them as domestic enemies while Antifa activists who were arrested were released and they lied about Brian Sicknick being killed with a fire extinguisher and even honored him in the Rotunda – all to promote their propaganda and insist that Trump supporters were “armed”. (They never would have been allowed anywhere near Trump if they were armed!).
Was it smart to enter the building? No. Was it understandable, sadly, yes… but the FIX was in!

What I heard down on the ground were shouts of “Its our house, not their house”, and the guys shouting that pushing forward towards the capital. I think that was the bait that many people who had no plans on entering fell for. While technically the truth, it belongs to the taxpayers, gotta keep your head on straight in a big crowd of tens of thousands. A few hundred went in, and now the fact that tens, if not hundreds, of thousands gathered were outside respectfully protesting is ignored. It could have been a moment to show strength but opportunity lost.

I believe Trump should have ordered it even though the demcomms would have played that angle too.

Well, the irony, which I pointed out that very day, is that in protesting the Steal the way they did, they screwed Trump good and hard. Whatever chance he might have had up to that point — gone in an instant.

Do you know that the capitol police chief wrote a letter to Nancy Pelosi and said that the real Trump supporters who gathered at the capitol at 7:15 a.m. on January 6 had caused no trouble at all and no intelligence gathering expected any problem from them? They did not enter the capitol at 12:52, but THOUSANDS of well-organized, violent criminals in a mob, who were armed, entered after fighting and overwhelming the capitol police. Some of those who had gathered in the smaller group early that morning might have come over later when they saw the thousands looking like Trump supporters. In the video it appeared that some tried to keep them from breaking windows and damaging things, but they probably didn’t realize the danger they were in or even know that that mob was not Trump supporters.
The police chief said the people in the first group causing the chaos were well-coordinated when they entered the capitol and were armed even with chemical munitions. The invasion was definitely planned well ahead of

If the disputed votes in the swing states had been audited, all of this would have been avoided, even if it showed Biden had won, not likely, but it would have removed all the questions that are not answered. Our representatives and judicial system have failed citizens in a spectacular way.
What if, instead of joining in on invading the Capitol building, the MAGA supporters who chose to go to the Capitol had formed a protective human wall around the Capitol building when they saw others breaking through and running up the stairs? They could have assisted the Capitol police in an effort to protect that chair that is “ours” from desecration. That would have been some great optics – of American citizens voicing their concerns yet also protective of our institutions and traditions. But no, we get some dummy in his red MAGA hat sitting in that chair and a swarm of others in the room, with just one rational voice to be heard (though I find him a bit overdressed in tactical gear.). It is embarrassing, frankly, and I am tired of it. This is no way to win.

Yes, and the police chief that she fired (or allowed to resign) tried for four and a half hours to get approval for NG to come to help. He had talked to the officer over the NG on Jan. 5 and he told the police chief that he would prepare the NG in case they were needed and he could get them to the Capitol quickly once the police chief got approval. His request was sandbagged in the House with Pelosi and McConnell and supposedly trying to push it up the chain of command at the DoD.
They didn’t want the “armed insurrection” stopped. They wanted Trump convicted of a federal crime. So what if people were murdered.
I hope Nunes and Jordan follow up on the inquiry they started about it. We don’t need any more “strong letters” that go nowhere. It was certainly the strongest letter I’ve read yet, so I have a little hope that they won’t let this go.
