Dumb people don’t know to shut water off. Does these people have any brains left!!! City folk so inept!

People are shooting each other at fast food outlets over a sandwich made from an animal they’ve never actually seen in real life. Correction I meant allegedly made from that animal. Because how would they know?

Jim1937
Jim1937

Not all are dumb who live in cities. I always turned my water on to drip and not freeze my pipes and I wrapped the water pipes in the ceiling. I’m sure there were some rural people who never took any precautions and had the same problems.

Htos1av

I worked for G.E. in 1985 in north Florida as my territory. We had five degree days for about 72 hours in January that year, you’d have thought the fountains of the deep erupted-EVERY single piece of pvc pipe had broken. ANY tech rated for Florida will FAIL at 14F. Oh yeah, don’t even ask about the burned out power grid from pre-WWII eras. Didn’t matter HOW WELL you understood the tech. That’s FAR past the specs ratings.
That’s how FRAGILE this society is! It’s 100x more so by now with NO native US tech anymore!

Yes. That’s what’s causing all the cold weather. Because science. God it is tiring to have to battle this kind of ignorance all the time! Just go to NASA’s site they’ll show you the catastrophic warming! In the last hundred years the planet has warmed up 0.98 degrees Celsius! How can you not see the danger?!?! 😵😵

Everyone telling people to let the faucets drip…

Did you not see all of the videos of water freezing as it has been left to trickle out of the faucet?

The freeze was harder and deeper and further south than originally predicted.

Also, the lady wasn’t screaming from the sake of screaming. Listen carefully. I think she is yelling the name of a pet..Remy? There was a scream at first that automatically changed to Remy…where’s Remy?

Texas infrastructure is probably not in place for a freeze of any length of time. All water lines here are at minimum 2ft deep. Run a faucet at a trickle when it’s -5c or colder. CO2 detectors should be in working order and mandatory. That cold snap is avg temp from end of Nov. to end of Feb here. People need to start prepping for more of this. I hear we are in a solar minimum and these cold spells will become more common over the next while. Wood heat is the best and newer stoves are very good at reburning particulate before it hits the atmosphere.

RandomHandle

Edit: CO not CO2 detectors……..still not sure why anyone would try heating their home with a BBQ or run a generator in house.

That is how we cull out the mentally deficient…. any one that sits in his/her car, motor running, in his garage, for heat, needs to be removed from the herd,… and not be allowed to breed… the IQ in average is low enough already,.. much lower and we will become extinct… some other mammal will take over the lead….

It’s called HAARP when you look at the sat images. So B.S. and when Joe Says “It’s Going To Be A Long Cold Dark Winter” what do you think really happend. I know what happend the cold came up from the south first and then came down from Canada second. I hope D.C. ends up frozen under 50.000 million feet of ice -20°F and they can’t get out, not even through the train tunnels. BAS TARDS killed my baby duck with their HAARP Freeze and Power outages. I value that dead duck more than them. It doesn’t do that here and by the way enjoy the food shortage from all the dead spring crops that just froze. Welcome to moron land. HAARP needs to be DISMANTLED IMMEDIATELY before they kill anything or anyone else with it. Wake up! And look around sometime. You might see what is really happening right now!

This winter is a result of the recent lowest, high sunspot period in the last 100 years. We are headed for gradual global cooling not warming.

OldRktSciGuy
OldRktSciGuy

Please, that’s to simple a conclusion based on science for the climate freaks to ever accept but it’s also the most likely to be the correct one. The biggest potential driver of earth’s climate is the SUN thus small changes to the sun’s output can result in large effects here on earth.

In a power grid the output of each system is not what’s important … the weakest link is the issue.

When the weakest link fails, unless one of the other links has the agility and ability to make up the difference, the whole system collapses

Anyone living in the northern climes and with a functioning brain knows that you always let a faucet drip when the weather gets cold, just to prevent man-made disasters like this. Relying on green energy in the dead of winter is a fools errand.

northshore_paul
northshore_paul

Those of us in the South also know to run the faucets inside and outside during times of unprecedented cold. On average here in south Louisiana below I-12, we get maybe 5 days where the temps dip below 32 during the winter. Believe me, we run our faucets. Now you may have some youngsters, (below 30 y/o) who were not aware of that need since it has been a while since we have had a prolonged cold period but since experience is the best teacher….they now know. 🙂

I always tell people. If you want to blame warmer weather in Ohio on climate change..you also have to point to Texas. If Texas is hot…but the same heat it usually is..or we had consecutive days of high heat that we had before..

Then it’s not global.warming. if it’s the normal temp down here then blame mother earth and the sun. Not mankind.

If Ohio is hot…then suddenly Texas is 30 degrees hotter then normal during the summer. You may have an argument for something changing in the climate. But if summer never gets above what it usually does. Then..go away with your ponzi schemes.

Miss Marple
Miss Marple

“An unusual Ocean anomaly is being detected in the Gulf Stream, not seen in at least 150 years, bearing importance as we face the next weather seasons” by Andrej Flis from Severe Weather Europe. I originally got the link from SOTT.

https://www.severe-weather.eu/global-weather/gulf-stream-amoc-ocean-anomaly-united-states-europe-fa/

Reading the article requires patience because he uses an enormous amount of graphs. He demonstrates that the Gulf Stream is losing momentum and beginning to behave like the last (mini) ice age.

Climate change, as defined by leftists, is a chimera. An illusion in people’s minds like Bill Gates and Klaus Schwab.

The “climate” changes continually through the epochs and ages as natural warming and cooling occurs. Read this article.

I have screen caps saying this just as clinton was elected! IN FACT, it was the NYT that ENRAGED billy boy and he and wifey “pulled the trigger” on America. I STILL HAVE that article from 1994-on “global warming”. “IT’S A FREAKING DESERT! DESERTS ARE HOT! FOR 200 YEARS AND LONGER!”
That’s basically what the NYT told the clintons, and Newt Gingrich INSTANTLY “evaporated” with his contract, and we had Ruby Ridge, Waco, and OKC Murrah, and by ’96 a RASH of plane crashes JUST offshore of billary’s new home in NY!, back to back to back……..

Seriously people, shut the valve coming into your house and open all of the faucets. This is easily preventable.

HopHead

IMHO, probably better to leave your property owner shutoff open, open cabinet doors under kitchen sink and bathroom lavatories, make sure laundry room has a small space heater in it and close its door, as well as bathrooms — use those about $10 wall mini-space heaters set to lowest of 60 deg F cabinet doors open and close the door, and very slowly drip hot and cold at kitchen sink, bathroom lavatories, and wrap and drip outside hose bibbs. Modern homes (less than 50 years old or so) on concrete slabs with standard insulation and well-sealed doors and windows can withstand a lot of cold weather.

Water coming up from the main is relatively, I typed RELATIVELY, warm and carries heat with it.

I’m in San Antonio, TX, central heat has been out for a long time, the past 4 nights have recorded something like 19 deg, 9 deg, 22 deg, 24 deg and got through it all okay. With all above advice temperatures indoors never got below about 45-50 degrees, warming up during the day.

Common sense.

Turning the faucets on to have a constant trickle of water (I mean, or running them higher if you don’t mind wasting the water) prevents the pipes from freezing.

HopHead
HopHead

One drip per second overnight uses about 2 gallons of water. Say you drip H/C at kitchen, H/C each at 2 bathroom lavatories and 3 outside hosebibbs, for each hard freeze night you drip, probably talking about 20 gallons for each night. If you don’t, and your pipes freeze and break gonna be a lot more than that when they thaw out, get repaired, and then flushed out. If someone wants to really be a water saver pull up the lavatory pop-up, the basin will fill but discharge through the overflow when the water gets that high — then in the morning, dip out that, put in a bucket and pour out on the yard or water inside plants (don’t do this at the kitchen sink, no overflow there). Outside hosebibbs dripping will just add a little bit more water to your landscaping and yard turf.

The Earth’s surface is about 70% water; we’re not running out of water, some politicians don’t spend our tax money wisely to provide enough collection, treatment, and storage, but water is NOT a scarce resource.

Oh, and if you don’t drip to prevent freezing, plumbing crew needs to come out, burning vehicle fuel, using materials and supplies that have to be manufactured somewhere (using cooling water and/or steam processes), etc., etc. It’s not just about a few gallons of dripping water overnight to prevent a much more costly event to the individual, and indirectly, to society.

rocketride
rocketride

There are issues, in places, with having enough FRESH water, though.

Gary
Gary

….hard to run a $10.00 wall heater to keep the pipes from freezing when the electricity is off.

HopHead
HopHead

True that; the dripping water is more important, though (as evidenced by outside hosebibbs in any case are only wrapped and dripped and have NO space heaters and are on the outside of the building and subject to wind chill effects to boot. If, IF, the water utility has power (usually backup generators at each booster station) water will still be flowing carrying a bit of warmth with it.

If you have no electric power AND the water utility has a total loss on the distribution mains then this is equivalent to no space heaters and shutting off your property owner shutoff valve, and well, just hope the open cabinet doors and home insulation and tight windows and doors are enough.

Do you want to DO SOMETHING about this mask madness? It’s time for March Mask Madness! Here’s something that you CAN DO EASILY, to wit:

Get 10 people to fill up carts to the max while wearing the facial diapers, then while waiting in the back of the line at the check-out stands, take the face diapers off, then argue a bit with the brainwashed employees, while recording on your phone, then just walk out.

10 full carts with lots of frozen stuff to return to shelves.

10 people hitting one store, then again at another store another day, then again at another store. Hit the damn stores where it hurts.

Make the facial diaper enforcement COSTLY.

Winter Tomato
Winter Tomato

I did exactly that at a Safeway. I honestly forgot my mask and went shopping for mostly meats and frozen items. Nearly filled the cart. No one bothered me until I got to check out where they wouldn’t ring me up. So, I walked out with them thinking I was going to get my diaper in my car. Naw, went straight home.
